Introduction
This is the procedure for replacing the keyboard on a VAIO Pro PF (VJPF11*)
What you need
-
-
The bottom and key-top components can be separated by removing the rear screws.
-
Pull out the flat cable shown in the picture to completely decouple it.
-
-
-
-
Use a spatula to separate the plastic pins that hold the keyboard top and keyboard in place.
-
A portion of the broken pin will remain, and the new keyboard will be glued to this to hold it in place.
-
The left side is the new keyboard and the right side is the old keyboard.
-
-
-
Install the new keyboard, fitting the plastic pins for the remaining fixation.
-
An adhesive is used to secure the keyboard. In this case, UV cured glue is used. For stronger fixation, epoxy glue should be used.
-
-
-
Install all cover seals and FAN airflow seals that were used for insulation.
-
-
-
Tie the flat cable and secure the keyboard top and mainboard side with screws.
-
Turn on the power and check that the key input and backlight work properly.
